5 people die of dengue in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 5 people have died of dengue, a disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. In addition, 311 more people have been admitted to the hospital with dengue fever during this period. This information was given in a report sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (August 21). Three women and two men were among the 5 people who died. With this, 110 people have died of the Aedes mosquito-borne disease so far this year. Among the deceased, 64 are men and 46 are women. The report said that from 8 am yesterday, Wednesday to 8 am today, Thursday, 112 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City, 42 in Dhaka Division (outside the City Corporation), 37 in Chittagong Division, 82 in Barisal Division, 15 in Khulna Division, 21 in Rajshahi Division and 2 in Mymensingh Division. A total of 27,782 patients have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue since January this year.
