5 more people die of dengue
In the last 24 hours, 5 more people have died of dengue across the country. At the same time, 841 more people have been admitted to various hospitals in the country due to the mosquito-borne disease. This information was given in a press release on dengue sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Tuesday (October 14).
With this, a total of 238 people have died of dengue this year. On the other hand, the total number of infected people has stood at 56,257. Of the new infected people in the last 24 hours, 61.8 percent are men and 38.2 percent are women. The release said that out of the five people who died of dengue in the last 24 hours, four are residents of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The other is from Mymensingh division.
It was further stated that in the last 24 hours, 125 new patients have been identified in Barisal division, 106 in Chittagong division, 214 in Dhaka division, 173 in Dhaka North city, 126 in Dhaka South city, 26 in Khulna division, 19 in Mymensingh division, 47 in Rangpur division and 3 in Sylhet division. On the other hand, 793 dengue patients have recovered from various hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours. A total of 53,354 people have been discharged this year. Currently, 56,257 dengue patients are admitted in various hospitals in the country.
