5 members of the same family, including a child, burned in stove explosion
Five members of the same family, including a child, were burnt in a fire caused by gas leakage in a house in Kanchpur, Narayanganj. They have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. The accident took place on the ground floor of a 3-storey house in Kanchpur Basic area of Sonargaon police station at around 5:30 am today (September 4) on Thursday. The burnt victims are: Manab Chowdhury (40), his wife Bacha Chowdhury (38), three daughters Munni (14), Chunni (12) and Mauri (6). Neighbor Sabinay Das, who rescued them and brought them to the hospital, said that the family lives on the ground floor of the house. As soon as they lit the stove for cooking in the morning, an explosion occurred. Later, hearing their screams, everyone in the neighborhood went to put out the fire in the house. They were then rescued and brought to the hospital. Doctors at the Burn Institute said that 5 of them are being treated in the emergency department.
