5 injured in clash between two BNP factions in Raozan
Five people were injured in a clash between two BNP factions in Raozan, Chittagong. The incident took place at 12:15 pm on Wednesday (November 5) at Chowdhury Para, Warden No. 7 of Bagowan Union No. 14, Raozan Upazila.
The injured are Raozan Upazila Sramik Dal General Secretary Abdullah, Bagowan Union Krishak Dal Vice President Mohammad Ismail, Bagowan Union Sramik Dal Joint Convener Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, Bagowan Union Jubo Dal Vice President Rabiul Hossain and local BNP activist Mohammad Sohel. All the injured are residents of Bagowan Union.
According to local sources, a gunfight broke out between the followers of BNP central vice president Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury and Golam Akbar Khandaker over the issue of dominance. Five people from both sides were injured in the incident.
Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raojan Police Station, told us, “A few days ago, there was a fight between the two parties. As a result, shooting took place last night. Several people were injured in the shooting. Meanwhile, the condition of one of the injured is critical.”
