4 killed in truck-CNG collision in Narayanganj
Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a gas-laden truck and CNG in Narayanganj. The accident occurred at around 3 pm on Tuesday (August 12) in the Karaitala Taltala area of Bishanandi Union. The deceased were Liton Das (32), CNG driver Abul Bashar (34) and two others, a woman and a man. Their names and identities are not yet known. Three more were seriously injured in the incident. Police and witnesses said that on Tuesday afternoon, a passenger CNG was heading towards Bishanandi Ferry from Madanpur. On the way, it collided head-on with a gas-laden truck coming from the opposite direction when it reached Karaitala Taltala intersection. This resulted in the casualties. Meanwhile, traffic on the road has been closed for 3 hours since the accident. As a result, severe traffic jams have been created on both sides of the road. Araihazar Police Station OC Khandaker Nasir Uddin said the deadly truck has been seized, but it was not possible to arrest the truck driver as he fled.
