4 arrested in Raipur auto driver murder case

Four people have been arrested in Raipur, Laxmipur in the murder case of auto driver Sohag Hossain (27). Police arrested the accused from Rakhalia village on Sunday night (February 15) and this Monday morning. The arrested accused are – Md. Nazir, Md. Riday, Md. Sujan and Arafat Hossain. Earlier, this incident took place on Saturday afternoon (February 14) at Kalabagan of Helal Patwari in Patwari Road Matha area of ​​Sonapur union of the upazila.
The deceased auto driver Sohag is the son of Tajal Islam of Lalgazi Miji bari in the same area. Yesterday morning, the elder brother of the deceased, Rajib Hossain, filed a case with the police station accusing unknown persons as the plaintiff. The names of Nazir Ahmed (48), Md. Riday (22), Murad (30), Arafat (25), Shahin (26), Md. Rabbi (26) and Md. Sujan have been mentioned in this case. Among them, Arafat went abroad yesterday.
At 5 pm today, relatives of the deceased and local residents protested near the deceased’s house and in front of the police station demanding the arrest of the killers. At that time, the Additional Superintendent of Police assured the arrest of the killers. The brother of the deceased Sohag said that since the incident, accused Arafat and other accused are absconding. Arafat’s photo and passport have been sent to the OC.
The case report says that Sohag has not been found since the night of the 13th National Parliament election. There is no dispute with anyone. Who or what killed Sohag and took his mobile and auto rickshaw. However, it is known that he was addicted to online gambling with some drug addicts and gamblers in the area. In this regard, Raipur Police Station OC Shahin Mia said that a murder case has been filed in the murder of auto driver Sohag. The suspects involved in the incident, Arafat, Nazir, Sujan and Riday, have been arrested. Efforts are underway to arrest others involved.
