30 people pushed in at Gangni border in Meherpur

A total of 30 Bangladeshis, including women, men and children, were pushed in by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Gangni border in Meherpur. The incident took place early on Wednesday (December 3). It is learnt that those who were pushed in are residents of different districts of the country.
According to BGB sources, 30 Bangladeshis were pushed in about 100 yards inside the 140/6 S pillar of the border line in the area under the responsibility of Tentulbaria BOP. It is being said that these people infiltrated through various borders of India through brokers. Later, the Indian police arrested them and kept them in Kolkata jail. Later, the BSF returned them to the Bangladesh border. Among the pushed in are 16 men, 10 women and 4 children.
Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Boni Israel told us, “Further action will be taken against those who were pushed in after the legal process is completed.”
