3 more die of dengue, 408 hospitalized

Three people have died of dengue, a disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, in the last 24 hours. In addition, 408 more people have been admitted to the hospital with dengue fever during this period. This information was given in a report sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (August 7). Among the three who died, two are men and one is a woman (22). One of the men is 53 years old and the other is 18 years old. The report said that from 8 am yesterday, Wednesday to 8 am today, Thursday, 94 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City, 73 in Barisal Division (excluding City Corporation), 59 in Dhaka Division, 58 in Chittagong Division, 52 in Rajshahi Division, 37 in Khulna Division, 25 in Mymensingh Division, 7 in Rangpur Division and 3 in Sylhet Division. So far this year, 95 people have died due to the disease. Among the dead, 55 were men and 40 were women. In addition, 23,220 people have been hospitalized due to dengue so far this year. Of these, more than 10,000 patients were hospitalized in July alone.
