3 leaders of BNP had a meeting with the chief advisor
Three members of the National Standing Committee of BNP had a meeting with Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The meeting was held at Yamuna, the residence of the Chief Adviser, on Wednesday morning.
In the meeting, everyone has been urged to prevent the creation of a new political crisis in the country due to the removal of President Md Sahabuddin. BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan confirmed the matter to the media after the meeting with the Chief Advisor at around 11:30 am.
He said, fascism has arisen in the new country, democracy must be restored. The ongoing crisis must be resolved. They urged the chief adviser to be careful not to create a constitutional and political crisis in the country.
BNP standing committee members Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Salauddin Ahmed were with Nazrul Islam Khan at that time.
This meeting with BNP leaders in Yamuna is unscheduled due to the ongoing political situation in the country. But they say it’s part of an ongoing dialogue.
Earlier, Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul and Labor and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmood Sajib Bhuiyan entered Yamuna at the Chief Adviser’s residence.
It should be noted that there was a protest under several banners on Tuesday demanding the removal of the President. At night, tension spread around Bangabhaban. Around 8:30 pm, the protesters tried to break the security barricade in front of the Banga Bhavan. Army and policemen stopped them.
Some more policemen tried to reach the spot to control the situation. At this time, a part of the protestors attacked the policemen. Several policemen were beaten up. At one stage the police van was also attacked and the policemen were blocked. The police then fired batons, tear gas shells and sound grenades to disperse the protesters. At least 20 people were injured.
