3 killed in Tangail bus-CNG collision

Three people, including a mother and son, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Dhanbari, Tangail. Another person was injured in the accident. The accident occurred around noon on Monday in the Baghil area of ​​the Dhaka-Jamalpur highway in the upazila. The deceased were Kajal Rekha (45), the wife of Mujibur Rahman of Jamalpur district, and her son Shraban (16). The identity of the other woman was not known. In this regard, Dhanbari Police Station OC SM Shahidullah said that when a passenger bus of Mahi Paribahan, which left Dhaka and was heading towards Jamalpur, it collided head-on with a CNG bus coming from the opposite direction, which was heading towards Madhupur. One of the CNG buses was killed on the spot. Three others were injured. The injured were rescued and taken to Dhanbari and Madhupur Upazila Health Complexes, where the doctors on duty declared two of them dead. The assailants seized the bus in the incident, but its driver fled.
