3 killed in microbus-autorickshaw collision in Srimangal
Three people, including the driver, were killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Srimangal, Moulvibazar. The accident occurred on Monday (March 30) evening in the Sirajnagar area of the Dhaka-Sylhet regional highway. The deceased autorickshaw driver, Hannan Mia (35), is a resident of Uttar Baroura village in Srimangal upazila. The identities of the others are not known.
According to local and police sources, a head-on collision occurred between a microbus and an autorickshaw yesterday afternoon. As a result, the autorickshaw overturned. Later, before the fire brigade arrived, locals rescued four people, including the autorickshaw driver, and sent them to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. Doctors there declared two dead.
“We have received information that three people have been killed in the accident. Their bodies are at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital,” said Srimangal Police Station OC Jahirul Islam Munna.
