24 died in bus accident in Mexico

The accident happened around midnight on Friday as the bus left Tepic in the western Mexican state of Nayarit for Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico.
The injured are being treated at a hospital in Zacatecas, NBC News reported.
Juan Manriquez Moreno, coordinator of the National Guard in Zacatecas, said in a video statement shared on social media that the truck trailer broke down on a highway. The passenger bus collided with the trawler and overturned on its right side.
“Initially, 24 people have been reported dead,” said David Monrier, governor of Zecatecas.
The actual death toll was later released by the state attorney general’s office.
The Attorney General’s Office said an investigation into the incident has been ordered. Besides, the driver of the tractor trailer has been arrested. The bodies of those killed in the bus accident were recovered from the ditch.
Pictures circulating on social media showed rescue workers, security forces and army personnel joining the rescue operation.
The attorney’s office also said the bus was headed for the U.S.-Mexico border city of Ciudad Juarez in the state of Chihuahua. The dead migrants in it are left out of the calculation.
