22 High Court judges to take oath at noon
22 judges appointed as permanent judges in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court will take oath today at noon. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed will administer their oath at the Supreme Court Judges Lounge today (November 12) at 1:30 pm. Earlier, on the instructions of the President, the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification regarding the appointment of judges yesterday (November 11).
It said that the President, in consultation with the Chief Justice, has appointed 22 additional judges of the High Court Division as judges in accordance with Article 95 of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The appointment will be effective from the date of taking the oath. Earlier, on October 8 last year, the President had appointed 23 people as additional judges for a term of more than two years. Out of these 23 people, 22 were appointed as permanent judges.
The 22 judges are – Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, Syed Enayet Hossain, Md. Mansur Alam, Syed Zahed Mansur, KM Rasheduzzaman Raja, Md. Jabid Hossain, Mubina Asaf, Kazi Waliul Islam, Ainun Nahar Siddika, Md. Abdul Mannan, Tamanna Hafizur Rahman, Md. Hafizur Rahman, Md. Nasrin Akhter, Sathika Hossain, Syed Mohammad Tajrul Hossain, Md. Toufiq Inam, Yusuf Abdullah Sumon, Sheikh Tahsin Ali, Faiz Ahmed, Md. Sagir Hossain and Sikder Mahmudur Razi.
