2 youths die after tree branches fall in Magura
Two youths died after a tree branch fell on their motorcycle in the Keshtpur area of the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Magura. The accident occurred at around 9:30 pm last Friday (March 13). The deceased were identified as Prat Dutta (26), son of Bhajan Dutta of Saha Para in Narkel village of Sreepur upazila, and Mahbub (27), son of Dipul Molya of Khaldia Para in Ghasiara village of the same upazila.
Magura Ramnagar Highway Police Station OC Roknuzzaman said that Prat Dutta and Mahbub were coming towards Magura town from Nakol area on the same motorcycle last night. When they reached the Keshtpur stand area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway, a dead branch of a tree broke off and fell on their motorcycle in the storm. Both were seriously injured.
Locals rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Sadar Hospital in Magura, where the doctor declared Prat Dutta dead. The seriously injured Mahbub was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, but he died that night. The families of the two deceased youths from Nakol and Ghasiara villages of Sreepur upazila are mourning.
