2 Awami League leaders arrested in Gopalganj
Two Awami League leaders have been arrested in Tungipara, Gopalganj. The two Awami League leaders have been arrested in a case of assault on Tungipara police station and vandalism of a vehicle.
They were arrested on Wednesday afternoon from Ward No. 3 area of Tungipara municipality and in front of Sonali Bank in Patgati Bazar.
Tungipara police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Monir Hossain confirmed the arrest of the two Awami League leaders and activists.
The arrested are Panna Mridha, vice-president of Tungipara municipality Awami League, and Masud Munshi, president of ward No. 8 of the municipality Awami League.
SI Monir Hossain said, “The two accused in the case of attacking the police and vandalizing the car, Panna Mridha and Masud Munshi, have been arrested.” It is worth noting that on the evening of February 2, the leaders and activists attacked the police and vandalized the car while arresting an Awami League worker while distributing leaflets in front of Khan Saheb Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain School and College in the upazila. In this incident, on February 3, at noon, SI Rabbi Morsalin filed a case with Tungipara Police Station, naming 105 people and accusing 450 unknown people.
