165 schoolchildren killed in US-Israeli strike in Iran buried

The burial of 165 students and staff killed in a joint US-Israeli strike on a school in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan has been completed. The attack on Saturday (February 28) was the first day of a joint US-Israeli operation against Iran. Officials said it was the deadliest incident so far in the ongoing campaign against Tehran.
The Israeli military said it was not aware of any Israeli or US strikes in the area. However, it has repeatedly denied responsibility for deadly attacks on Palestinian civilians in the ongoing war in Gaza. Although the IDF has since described many of the incidents as “unintentional” when evidence was found.
The United Nations condemned the attack in Mina. Under international humanitarian law, deliberately targeting an educational institution, hospital or other civilian facility is considered a war crime.
Last Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that the two countries “continue to indiscriminately attack residential areas; hospitals, schools, Red Crescent facilities, or cultural monuments – nothing is being left out.”
