14 accused in Ashulia body burning and Abu Sayeed murder case appear before tribunal
Former police officers Abdullah Hill Kafi and Shahidul Islam, along with 8 accused, have been presented before the International Crimes Tribunal in the case of burning the bodies of six people in Ashulia during the student-public movement. At the same time, 4 accused, including former police officers Amir Hossain and Sujan, have also been brought before the tribunal in the Abu Sayeed murder case. They were presented before the tribunal at 10 am on Sunday (July 13). On July 2, the prosecution filed a formal complaint with the tribunal accusing 16 people, including former MP Saiful Islam, in the case of burning the bodies of six people in Ashulia. Earlier, the prosecution received the investigation report of the case on June 19. Meanwhile, last Thursday, Special Tribunal-2 ordered the absconding accused in the Abu Sayeed murder case to publish a notice in the newspaper to appear in court. Of the total 30 accused in the case, 26 are absconding. A hearing on the matter is expected to be held on Sunday.
