12-year-old Bangladeshi girl raped by 200 men in India!
A 12-year-old Bangladeshi girl has been the victim of a tragic incident in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. She alleged that she was sexually abused by more than 200 men for three months before being rescued from a prostitution ring located in Naigaon near Vasai. Indian media outlets Times of India and News18 reported this on Monday (August 11). Local officials said that the child was rescued on July 26 in a raid by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Vira (MBVV) police with the help of NGOs Exodus Road India Foundation and Harmony Foundation. Ten people have been arrested so far in the incident. Abraham Mathai, founder-president of Harmony Foundation, said, “The 12-year-old girl said that she was first taken to Nadiad in Gujarat and was sexually abused by more than 200 men for three months. The girl has not even seen her adolescence, but her childhood has been taken away by such brutal people.’ Mathai said that after failing a subject in school, the girl had run away with a woman she knew, fearing her parents’ backlash. The woman secretly brought her to India and pushed her into prostitution. The founder-president of Harmony Foundation has demanded the arrest of all the people the child can name. Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik said, ‘MBVV police are making all efforts to expose the entire network and ensure a safe environment for vulnerable teenagers.’ Police said that an operation is underway to find everyone involved in the network, including the person accused of sexual abuse.
