12 arrested for hacking Imo and defrauding in Natore

The army has arrested 12 people in Lalpur, Natore, on charges of hacking the mobile app Imo and defrauding them. They were arrested in a raid in the Bilmaria area of ​​the upazila early on Wednesday (July 9). According to army sources, the army conducted a raid in the Bilmaria area around 5 am. At that time, 12 members of an organized gang that was extorting money from locals and expatriates by hacking the mobile app Imo were arrested. During initial interrogation, the detainees admitted that they had been cheating by hacking the Imo app for a long time. At the same time, they would develop love relationships with expatriates and later blackmail them to extort money by recording obscene videos. In addition, they are also known as a juvenile gang and drug addicts in the area. 16 Android mobiles, 12 button phones, 30 SIM cards, a domestic weapon, 5 pieces of Yaba and marijuana were seized in the raid. The detainees were later handed over to the Lalpur Police Station. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station Mominuzzaman said that out of the 12 people arrested in the previous case filed under the Cyber ​​Security Protection Act, 8 are accused in this case. They will be handed over to the court. On the other hand, a separate case has been filed against the remaining 4 people under the Narcotics Control Act and they will also be sent to the court.
