11-party alliance to be in parliament and streets simultaneously: Hamidur Rahman Azad

Despite various allegations, the elected members of the 11-party alliance will participate in the oath-taking ceremony. They will be in parliament and streets simultaneously, said Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad. This Sunday (February 15) afternoon, the 11-party alliance complained to the Election Commission about various irregularities in the counting, counting and declaration of results. At that time, an application was made for a recount of the results in 32 seats.
After the meeting with the commission, Hamidur Rahman told the media that if the EC does not take any action, the alliance will take legal action. Even though no major incident occurred, there were elements that could question the election. It is necessary to investigate whether there was any other reason behind the hasty publication of the gazette. He said, voting has decreased. An atmosphere of fear has been created. We, who elected together as eleven parties, have repeatedly informed the commission, and have also been informed locally. But we have not received any satisfactory action. The election ended at 4:30 pm. The polling started at 7:30 pm as scheduled. After two to three hours, it was seen that the voting did not go as expected.
The Jamaat leader said, “The polling in some centres towards the end, the results we got by 4:30 pm, showed abnormal voting in the same centre after the complete results. Then the question remains whether extra ballots were used. Overall, these errors have been noticed in the voting process. Stating that there were inconsistencies in the counting, he said, in some places, agents were forcibly removed during the counting. Again, those who were there were deactivated. There are also allegations that threats were made while filing complaints. In other words, the environment required for a fair counting was disrupted in some places.
He further said, if there are errors in the counting, then it is natural that it will affect the results. This was also seen in the result sheet, in many places the signature of the main agent was not overwritten and the signature of the main agent was not taken on the result sheet. For example, in six constituencies of Dhaka, the result sheet was written in pencil. He also said that the 11-party alliance will hold protest meetings and processions on the streets tomorrow to protest the incidents of violence in various places.
