11 crore 78 lakh taka in donation box of Pagla Mosque
11 crore 78 lakh 48 thousand 538 taka was found in the donation box of the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj city. This money was found by counting 35 bags of taka in 13 donation boxes. The money was deposited in the account of Rupali Bank. The counting of the money started after the donation box was opened at 7:30 am yesterday, Saturday (December 27) and ended at 8 pm. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aslam Mollah confirmed this information. Earlier, on August 30 this year (4 months and 17 days), 12 crore 9 lakh 37 thousand 220 taka was found in 13 donation boxes.
The Pagla Mosque authorities said that usually the donation box is opened every three to four months. This time the donation box was opened after 3 months and 27 days. Even then, a record amount of money was found. First, the money was filled in bags. Later, the counting work was started by pouring it on the floor of the second floor of the mosque. About 500 people, including 360 students of Nurul Quran Hafizia Madrasa and Al Jamiatul Imdadia of Pagla Mosque Complex, 33 teachers and employees, and 100 employees of Rupali Bank, participated in the counting of taka. Members of the administration, army, police and Ansar were also present at the time.
13 donation boxes were opened at 7:30 am under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner and President of Pagla Mosque Committee Mohammad Aslam Mollah and Superintendent of Police Dr. SM Farhad Hossain. At that time, 13 donation boxes were opened at 7:30 am. Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Kamrul Hasan Maruf and Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) Mohammad Ali Haresi, along with 18 executive magistrates, administrative officers of the mosque and officials of the Pagla Mosque Committee were present.
Pagla Mosque is one of the various historical establishments of Kishoreganj city. The mosque is located on the banks of the Narsunda River in the Harua area to the west of the city. It is said that if you donate to this mosque with the right intention, people’s hopes will be fulfilled. That is why many people come here from far and wide to donate. Along with money, people also donate various kinds of items to the mosque including gold ornaments, cattle, poultry and other animals. Currently, 104 crore taka has been deposited in the bank account of Pagla Mosque and 12 lakh 89 thousand 943 taka has been deposited online. The District Commissioner confirmed this information.
