10,000 police to guard Khaleda Zia’s funeral procession – Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary
The body of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be taken from Evercare Hospital to the South Plaza of the Parliament Building tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon. 10,000 police and APBN members will be on the ground to guard the funeral procession while it is being taken there. Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam gave this information today, Tuesday (December 30). He said that army members will also perform duties at important points.
Shafiqul Alam spoke to reporters at the Home Ministry meeting room at the Secretariat after the Law and Order Committee meeting. He said that the entire process of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s funeral and burial will be held with full state dignity.
Shafiqul Alam said, “Chief advisors, advisers and diplomats will be present at Khaleda Zia’s funeral. A big funeral was held in the Parliament building area a few days ago. Khaleda Zia’s funeral will be held on a larger scale. Preparations are being made in that light.”
