‘Shakib will never be allowed to play for Bangladesh again’

Shakib Al Hasan will never be seen in Bangladesh cricket again. Although it is not Shakib himself, Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has announced that he will not be allowed to play for Bangladesh again.
Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud gave this information in an interview given to a popular private television channel of the country on Monday (September 29).
There has been a heated debate about Asif on social media for two days due to a Facebook post by Shakib. In the meantime, the sports advisor has announced the final decision regarding the star cricketer.
Asif Mahmud said, ‘He cannot be allowed to carry the Bangladesh flag. It is not possible for me to let him carry the identity of the Bangladesh jersey. Even if I did not tell the BCB first, I will now give a clear instruction to the board that Shakib Al Hasan will never be able to play for the Bangladesh team again.’
The sports advisor explained why he took such a decision. He said, ‘Every time he (Shakib) asked to come to the country, to play, he always said “I was forcibly nominated. I am not involved in politics. I only wanted to work for the people of the area in the MP elections.” But the real truth is that he is actually deeply involved in Awami League politics, which we have got proof of.’
According to the evidence, Asif Mahmud actually meant a Facebook status of Shakib. The post from which this controversy began.
Basically, last Sunday around 9 pm, Shakib posted a picture of himself with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was absconding after the mass uprising, on Facebook and wished her a happy birthday. In that post, he wrote, ‘Happy birthday, Apa.’ Basically, Shakib-Asif’s virtual fight started after this post.
However, let’s remember the past events. Shakib was out of the country when the Sheikh Hasina government fell due to the student-public uprising on August 5 last year. After that, Shakib, who became a member of parliament under the boat symbol in the 12th parliamentary election, could not return to the country.
