Jamaat’s letter to the Chief Election Commissioner and Speaker to take action against Gazi Nazrul
After the objectionable video went viral, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has sent a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin to expel Gazi Nazrul Islam, Member of Parliament (MP) of Satkhir-4 constituency, from the party. It has also asked to take necessary action. A copy of the letter has also been given to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
This Thursday (July 23) afternoon, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar sent the letter to the Chief Election Commissioner. The letter states that an organizational investigation has been conducted into the news published in various media outlets recently about Gazi Nazrul Islam. As the investigation proved his moral lapse, it has been decided to expel him from the party as per Article 62 of the Jamaat constitution.
It also states that on July 22 (Wednesday), Ameer Dr. The decision was taken unanimously in an emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held under the chairmanship of Shafiqur Rahman. In this situation, the Election Commission has been informed about the expulsion of Gazi Nazrul Islam from the party and to take necessary action.
A copy of the letter has also been sent to the Speaker of the National Assembly. Recently, a wide discussion started on the issue after a video of Gazi Nazrul Islam’s private moments was circulated on social media. Later, after the allegations of moral lapse were proven after a party investigation, the party expelled him from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on July 22.
