Rabiul arrested for raping and murdering a five-year-old child in Narail
Police have arrested a man named Robi (35) on charges of raping and murdering a five-year-old child in Narail Sadar Upazila. Accused Robiul is the son of Atiyar Sikder of Ramchandrapur village of Auria union. He was arrested with the help of locals from Dattapara area of the union at around 9:30 am today (Tuesday) (July 21).
Police and local sources said that the child went missing on Monday (July 20) evening. Later, family members went searching and recovered the child’s body covered in cloth from inside Rabiul’s house. Relatives claim that the child was brutally murdered after the rape. The next morning, locals recognized accused Robiul while he was roaming in Dattapara area and beat him up.
Upon receiving the information, a team from Narail Sadar Police Station quickly reached the spot, rescued Robiul and took him into police custody. Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the matter and said that the arrested Rabiul is currently in police custody. Legal action is being taken to file a case in this tragic incident.
