What we know about the viral video of Jamaat MP Gazi Nazrul
A video surrounding Gazi Nazrul Islam, the MP from Satkhira-4 (Shyamnagar-Kaliganj part) constituency and leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has sparked a huge discussion on social media.
After the video was released, ‘Crime Barta’, a partner platform of Satkhira District Jamaat’s media cell, initially claimed that it was created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. However, after more videos surfaced from the same place, local leaders of the party claimed that the young woman in the video is the MP’s second wife.
This Tuesday (July 21) morning, Maulana Azizur Rahman, the editor and in-charge of the media department of Satkhira District Jamaat, told reporters that the video has come to our attention. The MP told us that the person seen in the video is his second wife. The marriage took place with the consent of the first wife.
In the video and CCTV footage that has been circulating on various social media platforms including Facebook since Monday night (July 20), Gazi Nazrul Islam has been seen staying in a room with a young woman. In different parts of the footage, he can be seen talking on a mobile phone and sometimes having sex with the young woman.
Maulana Azizur Rahman also said that we are investigating how and through whom the video was spread. In response to a question about when the second marriage took place, he said, “I do not know the exact date of the marriage. However, we have come to know that the marriage was completed a few days ago.”
The issue was also discussed as the young woman seen in the video seemed to be young. According to a biodata obtained by the reporter, her current age is about 18 years and 2 months according to the date of birth mentioned there.
In that biodata, the young woman mentioned herself as single. It was also mentioned that she participated in the SSC examination from the science department in 2026. It was not possible to get her statement on this matter as her mobile phone and WhatsApp number were switched off.
