54,323 Haj pilgrims return home, 50 die

A total of 54,323 Haj pilgrims have returned home on 123 return flights since the end of this year’s Hajj. In addition, 50 Haj pilgrims and Haj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far. Of these, 33 are men and 17 are women. This information was published on Friday (June 12) from the daily bulletin of the IT helpdesk on the Hajj portal of the Ministry of Religion. The Hajj was held in Saudi Arabia on May 26.
The portal said that the last Haj pilgrim, privately managed Haji Sultana Razia Chowdhury (67), died in Medina on June 11. Her home is in Sylhet Sadar. Of the Bangladeshi Haj pilgrims who died in Saudi Arabia, 35 died in Mecca, 14 in Medina and one in Jeddah. According to the bulletin, out of the 54,323 Hajj pilgrims who returned home, 4,313 are under government management and 50,010 are under private management.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 48 ​​Saudi Airlines and 21 Flynas have operated return flights to bring these pilgrims back home. The Hajj bulletin also informed that a total of 410 pilgrims have received treatment at various local hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Currently, 18 pilgrims are admitted to various hospitals.
A total of 78,500 people from Bangladesh have performed Hajj this year. Of these, 4,565 performed Hajj under government management and 73,935 performed Hajj under private management. The first flight of the pilgrims to Saudi Arabia was on April 18 and the last flight was on May 21. On the other hand, return flights have started from May 30, which will continue till June 30.
