Jahangirnagar University Eve Teasing Case, 3 Accused in Police Custody
The university administration has handed over 3 people to the police on charges of eve teasing at Jahangirnagar University (JU). Students arrested them on Sunday (May 17) night. The university authorities said that a resident of the area near the university’s Islamnagar gate abused two female students in obscene language and behaved indecently. Later, the students detained him and took him to the university’s security wing.
Meanwhile, an employee of a hotel in the university’s Battala area was accused of touching a female student while recording a video on his mobile phone. He has also been arrested in this incident and handed over to the police station. On the other hand, it was alleged that a young man was roaming around in the area of the university’s Arts and Humanities Faculty with his shirt off in front of the students. He is an employee of a hotel near AFM Kamaluddin Hall. Later, the students detained him and handed him over to the police.
