Attorney General’s warning on first day of work

Newly appointed Attorney General, Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal has given a stern warning that some law officers of the Attorney General’s Office have been accused of being involved in note trading and immoral activities and action will be taken against them subject to investigation. He told reporters at the Attorney General’s Office on his first day of work as the country’s 18th Attorney General today (March 29).
Earlier, the new Attorney General began his work by participating in prayers with senior lawyers at around 11 am. In response to a question, the Attorney General said, “Personally, I hold the ideology of BNP. But party issues will not be considered while performing the duties of the Attorney General. I will work in the interest of the state and the people. I will remain steadfast in my neutral ideology. As a result, I will not give any opportunity to lobbying or corruption.”
Stating that he dreams of establishing justice, the Attorney General said that no one’s trial should be obstructed. He wants to help young lawyers to clear the Bar Council examination as soon as possible and fulfill their dream of becoming lawyers. He said that he will discuss with the Chief Justice about lifting the ban on journalists entering the Supreme Court, adding, “I will talk to the Chief Justice. I am sure he will consider my request.” He added, “I believe in the free flow of information. But we must be careful to stop the flow of misinformation or misleading information spread through artificial intelligence (AI).”
