The Prime Minister has ordered to provide loans of up to 10 lakh taka as bank guarantee or bank solvency support to students for higher education abroad, said State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare Nurul Haque Nur. He said this after a meeting with the Prime Minister on Tuesday (March 24) afternoon.
Nurul Haque Nur said, after the Eid holidays, a meeting was held today at 11 am under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on the subject of expatriate welfare and overseas employment. The State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Prime Minister’s Advisory Secretary and the Foreign Secretary, along with several senior officials, were present in the meeting. An action plan was sought in the meeting and further discussions were held on it. In the meantime, as a result of the Prime Minister’s interest and her instructions, we have ordered the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment to provide loans of up to 10 lakh taka as bank guarantee or bank solvency support for those going to countries like Korea, Japan, China, Germany; especially for those who will go to countries like Korea, Japan, China, Germany. Our ministry has a bank called Prabashi Kalyan Bank and we have requested that the bank be specified by this ministry.
He also said that due to this war situation or crisis in the Middle East, many of our workers are currently there. A large part of our labor market is in the Middle East. In that case, we discussed what kind of crisis and possibilities this war can create for us. In particular, it is necessary to rebuild the kind of infrastructure that has been destroyed in the Middle East. Moreover, I hope that our country’s labor market there will not be much affected. On the contrary, the demand in our country may increase further. There, the Prime Minister has always emphasized the importance of learning a third language. People in our country work for little money just because they do not know the language. If they knew the language, they could get a little better salary.
