BNP stands by Swechchhasebak League leader’s wife who was divorced for voting
‘Amra BNP Paribahan’ stands by Bibi Johra, the wife of Swechchhasebak League leader who was divorced for voting. The organization took this decision on the instructions of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Yesterday, Saturday (February 14) afternoon, a delegation led by ‘Amra BNP Paribahan’ member secretary and agriculturist Mokchedul Momin Mithun went to the house of Bibi Johra, a resident of Banshtala area of Dharmapur union in Feni Sadar upazila, to inquire about her. They inquired about the overall situation of the victim, provided financial assistance and assured her of overall cooperation including education of her children.
At that time, Mokchedul Momin Mithun said that from a humanitarian point of view, the family will stand by them and necessary assistance will be taken.
At that time, newly elected member of parliament from Feni-1 constituency Rafiqul Alam Majnu, member of BNP’s national executive committee Mashiur Rahman Biplob and local leaders were present. It is learned that Zohra’s husband Ismail Hossain Kausar was the president of Ward 9 Swechchhasebak League of Dharmapur Union in Feni Sadar Upazila. Bibi Zohra is currently in uncertainty about her three children due to the divorce. Whether the matter is Sharia compliant is being examined.
