Chief Advisor calls for cooperation from trade fair participants
Chief Advisor to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called on all countries and organizations participating in the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) to work together in the spirit of mutual cooperation and partnership.
According to the pre-scheduled schedule, the fair was supposed to start on January 1, but the date has been changed due to the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. As per the new decision, the fair will start from Saturday, January 3. He made this call in a message last Wednesday (December 31). Dr. Yunus said, “The Interim Government is firmly committed to maintaining economic stability and achieving the desired growth.”
He said, “On the occasion of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2026, I extend my warmest greetings and congratulations to the local and foreign industrial entrepreneurs, investors, businessmen and buyers participating in the fair. This is a unique event to showcase Bangladesh’s immense potential on the world stage.
The Chief Advisor further said, ‘The role of Dhaka International Trade Fair is very important in promoting domestic products and expanding Bangladesh’s export trade. This month-long fair has been playing a very effective role in showcasing quality products produced in the country to domestic and foreign visitors, consumers, buyers and importers. In addition, local entrepreneurs and consumers are also easily getting a correct idea about the quality, design and global trends of foreign products through this fair.’
Mentioning the achievement of economic stability and growth, he said, ‘Since assuming office, the current interim government has been working sincerely to ensure economic stability and achieve the desired growth. Dhaka International Trade Fair can play an important role as a catalyst in achieving this goal. I hope this fair will expand the country’s economic activities, create employment and increase the export of Bangladeshi products abroad. In addition, I believe that this fair will play an important role in the overall development of the country by promoting domestic products, diversifying products and attracting foreign investment. He expressed the hope that, ‘All the countries and organizations participating in the fair will work on the basis of mutual cooperation and partnership. With the effective participation of all, this fair will become beautiful, customer-friendly and festive.’ Finally, the Chief Advisor wished the ‘Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2026’ the overall success. Incidentally, the trade fair was initially scheduled to start on January 1. But after the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, this date was changed to January 3.
