Fire from fireworks, historic church in Amsterdam burned down
A terrible fire broke out in the historic Vondelpark church in Amsterdam. A large part of the almost 150-year-old church was burned down by fireworks set off to celebrate the New Year.
The British newspaper Telegraph reported this information in a report on Thursday (January 1). No casualties were reported in the incident. The fire had spread to almost the entire structure of the church before the fire service arrived at the scene. The historic spire of the building had collapsed. A large part of the roof had collapsed.
As the intensity of the fire increased excessively, the administration declared a state of emergency in the area. In addition to trying to control the situation, nearby residents have been evacuated to safer places. Earlier, the neighboring cities of Heilbronn and Groningen were severely damaged by the fire. Due to this incident, the authorities announced a law banning fireworks in the country from this year.
