‘If we knew where Hadi’s killer was, we would have caught him’

Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that if we knew where Sharif Osman Hadi’s killer was, we would have caught him. He said that the Home Ministry does not have a clear idea about the current location of Shaheed Hadi’s killers, the spokesperson of Inqilab Manch.
He told reporters at a briefing after a core committee meeting at the Home Ministry today (December 22). The Home Affairs Advisor said that considerable progress has been made in the investigation into Hadi’s murder. The Advisor said that the current interim government, including the Home Ministry, is giving utmost importance to the trial of those involved in the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline fighter of the July uprising. It is determined to ensure justice in this incident. No one involved in this murder will be spared.
He also said that 10 people involved in the murder have already been arrested by the joint forces (Police, RAB and BGB). These include Shaheda Parveen Samia, the wife of the mastermind of the murder, Faisal Karim, his mother and father, brother-in-law Wahid Ahmed Shipu and the owner of the motorcycle, Abdul Hannan. In addition, the motorcycle used in the murder, 2 foreign pistols, 2 magazines, 41 rounds of bullets and a toy pistol have been recovered. The mastermind of the incident, Faisal Karim Masud, has been identified very quickly. However, in the interest of discovering the motive of the murder and maintaining confidentiality, it is not possible to provide detailed information on this matter right now. The Home Advisor said, however, we assure you that considerable progress has been made in this regard and law enforcement agencies are making every effort to find him (the mastermind). Based on intelligence information, the BGB has arrested five associates of the broker gang Philip (including his wife and father-in-law) on suspicion of involvement in this incident and handed them over to the police through due legal process. Yesterday (Sunday), the police, RAB and BGB informed the media in detail about the matter through a joint press conference at the conference room of the Home Ministry. Regarding whether the mastermind is in the country or abroad, the advisor said, “Where is he… he could be in the country or abroad. If I knew his real location, I would have guessed. I cannot say whether he went through legal or illegal channels.”
