Jamaat Ameer Hadi’s Grave Visited
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the grave of Inqilab Manch convener Sharif Osman Bin Hadi. He visited the grave after Fajr prayers at the central Jamaat mosque of Dhaka University early this Sunday (December 21). This information was given in a post on Jamaat’s verified Facebook page at around 7:50 am.
The organization’s Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Central President of Islami Chhatra Shibir Zahidul Islam, Member of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Md. Mubarak Hossain, DUCSUR VP Sadiq Kayem, GS SM Farhad and others were present with the Jamaat Ameer during the grave visit. They prayed for the forgiveness of Osman Hadi’s soul.
Earlier, yesterday (December 20), Saturday, the funeral of martyr Osman Hadi was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. Lakhs of people participated in the funeral. Later, he was buried at the tomb of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam located next to the Central Jama Masjid of Dhaka University. Incidentally, on December 12, the day after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election and referendum, miscreants shot Osman Hadi in the head on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. He was first treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at Evercare Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15 for better treatment. He died while undergoing treatment there last Thursday. His body was brought back to the country from Singapore last Friday. It was kept at the National Heart Institute Hospital morgue. After an autopsy at Suhrawardy Hospital yesterday morning, he was taken back to the Heart Institute. Later, after bathing there, the body was taken to the Parliament building area for the last rites. The national flag was flown at half-mast yesterday in connection with Hadi’s death and various programs were held to observe state mourning.
