Chief Advisor returns home after Rome visit

Chief Advisor to the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has returned home after a two-day important visit to Rome, Italy.
He left Rome’s Fiumicino Airport for Dhaka at 7:20 pm local time on Tuesday (October 14). The plane carrying the Chief Advisor landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:20 am Bangladesh time today (October 15).
Dr. Yunus arrived in Rome at around 5 pm local time on Sunday (October 12) to participate in the annual World Food Forum organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). He was welcomed by Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy ATM Roquebul Haque at Fiumicino Airport.
The main attraction of the visit was the opening ceremony of the World Food Forum last Monday, where Dr. Yunus delivered the keynote address. He presented a six-point proposal for eradicating hunger and poverty worldwide, which was appreciated by the international community.
During the visit, the Principal Advisor met separately with the President of Brazil, the Prime Minister of Djibouti, and the Mayor of Rome. These meetings discussed issues of mutual interest, including development cooperation with Bangladesh, exchange of agricultural technology, and expansion of social businesses.
