Bail bonds now online, process starts from Wednesday

To eliminate harassment, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said, bail bonds will be sent online from tomorrow, Wednesday. As a result, after getting bail, the bail bond will go to the concerned jail with one click.
He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the Attorney General’s Office internship program at the Supreme Court Auditorium today, Tuesday (October 14).
The Legal Advisor said, ‘We have made many reforms from the Law Ministry. We have done everything ourselves. Without anyone’s help. Tomorrow we will inaugurate the online bail bond. Through this bail bond, a person has to go through 12 processes from the court to his release.’
Stating that money has to be paid at some stage, Dr. Asif Nazrul said, ‘He has to face harassment at 12 stages. Tomorrow we are going to launch a pilot project. With one click, the bail bond will reach the accused directly from the court verdict. I did this with government money. No one needed help.’
He also said, ‘We trust a lot of money from the government. A lot of money. I have 16 billion taka in my Prabashi Kalyan Bank. We have 15 billion taka in our IGR office (Registrar’s office). No one notices this. We can do a lot of good work using our own money.’
At this time, in response to a question, the legal advisor said that the separate secretariat of the judiciary will be during the interim government. The separate secretariats of the judiciary law, the law on disappearances, the ACC law and the human rights law will be completed in the next few weeks.
The program was presided over by Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman. Additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf, Barrister Anik R. Haque spoke.
