Gaza peace deal ‘almost certain’: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said he is ‘almost certain’ that a peace deal with Gaza is possible. He also said that the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has already agreed to ‘very important’ things.
The US president made the remarks at a press conference in the Oval Office on Monday (October 6) local time. NDTV reported.
Responding to a question from reporters on whether the disarmament of Hamas was one of the preconditions for a peace deal, Trump said, ‘I have some ‘red lines’. If certain conditions are not met, we will not make a deal.’
He said, ‘But I think we are moving forward well, and Hamas has agreed to some things that are very important.’
Trump said he was optimistic about the deal because Hamas and the Israeli delegation have begun indirect talks in Egypt on a ceasefire under his proposed 20-point plan.
He said, ‘I think we are going to make a deal.’ It’s hard to say, because many have failed to reach an agreement for many years, but I think it’s possible this time.’
The US president said, ‘We will make a deal on Gaza – I’m almost certain of it.’
Trump also rejected a report about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The report claimed that Trump had criticized Netanyahu. Trump denied the claim, saying, ‘Netanyahu is very positive about the deal.’
