EC to complete registration of new parties this month: Musa

The EC will complete registration of new parties this month in the interest of dialogue with registered political parties before the February elections. NCP Joint Member Secretary Zahirul Islam Musa made this comment after meeting EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed on Monday (September 8) afternoon. He said, ‘A three-member NCP delegation met the secretary to get updated information on the registration of political parties. The secretary said that they have completed the investigation of new parties from the field and have approached the EC and the EC will take a decision on the matter within this month.’ NCP leader Zahirul Islam said, ‘Apart from expatriates, those who will be outside their parliamentary constituencies in the country for professional work will also be able to cast their votes in the ballot.’
