Saudi Arabia’s attack on northwest Yemen
Saudi Arabia has attacked two areas in northwest Yemen. Iran’s state-run Press TV confirmed the information in a report on Sunday (September 7). Citing local media outlet Al Masirah, the outlet reported that the attack was carried out in Sa’da province. At that time, shelling was targeting the border area. The attack caused extensive damage to civilian infrastructure and assets. However, there were no reports of casualties. On the other hand, Yemeni authorities said that Saudi Arabia has been attacking Yemen for a long time. However, its scope has increased since it protested the Israeli aggression in Gaza. It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia launched a fierce war against Yemen in March 2015 with the support of its allies and the arms and logistical support of the United States and other Western countries. The goal was to crush the Ansarullah (Houthi rebel) resistance movement that rules Yemen and restore the pro-Riyadh government of Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. However, the Saudi-led coalition has failed to achieve its goals. But it has killed millions of Yemenis. As a result of the war, the country is now facing the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
