The murder of businessman Rubel in Moulvibazar has been solved

The murder of hardware businessman Shah Faizur Rahman Rubel on Shamshernagar Road in Moulvibazar has been solved. The businessman was murdered while trying to rob him. Police Superintendent MKH Jahangir Hossain gave this information at a press briefing at the hall of the Moulvibazar Police Superintendent’s office on Monday (August 18) afternoon. Meanwhile, the police have arrested a young man named Juhel Mia alias Jewel Alif involved in the murder. In addition, other evidence including the knife used in the murder have been recovered. The Police Superintendent said in a written statement that on the evening of August 7, the day of the incident, businessman Shah Faizur Rahman Rubel was sitting alone in a hardware shop named F Rahman Trading on Shamshernagar Road in Moulvibazar town. At that time, the robber Juhel Mia alias Alif entered the shop, stabbed the businessman repeatedly and fled with Tk 1,100 from the cash. He further said that the injured businessman Rubel died on the night of the incident while undergoing treatment. In this regard, the family filed a case with Moulvibazar Model Police Station. During the police investigation, they identified an auto-rickshaw driver and, after obtaining information from him, arrested Juhel Mia alias Jewel Alif from his house in Loyarkul village of Srimangal upazila on August 17. Police said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to the repeated stabbing with a knife. He told the police that his family’s financial condition is very deplorable. Therefore, he came to Moulvibazar town on August 6 to carry out the stabbing and robbery. Unable to get any help that day, he came to Moulvibazar again on August 7 and committed the incident.
