Chief Advisor on Malaysia Visit
Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has left Dhaka for a three-day state visit to Malaysia. He departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2 pm on Monday (August 11) on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. The Chief Advisor will hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia in Putrajaya on Tuesday. The discussions are expected to focus on issues such as Rohingya repatriation, expansion of the labor market, proper use of the deep sea, strengthening agriculture and bilateral trade. Dhaka will urge Malaysia and ASEAN countries to take a more active role in the repatriation of Rohingya. Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain, Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan and Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul, along with several high-ranking officials, are accompanying the Chief Advisor on this visit. It is worth noting that in October last year, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited Bangladesh at the invitation of Muhammad Yunus.
