Pagla Mosque fund has 900.64 crore taka deposited: Religious Advisor

Stating that 900.64 crore taka of people’s donations have been deposited in the fund of the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj, Religious Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said, with the money donated by people, a beautiful multipurpose Islamic complex centered around the Pagla Mosque will be built on the model of the mosques currently located along the Phosphorus Canal in modern Turkey. There will be education facilities for orphans, religious education, madrasa education, a rich library cafeteria, IT section and many more. And it will cost 50 to 60 lakh taka. He informed reporters after visiting the Pagla Mosque on Sunday (August 10) morning. The Religious Advisor also said, ‘A 10-storey multipurpose building complex will be constructed here under the supervision of the finance administration and the district administration. The current area of the Pagla Mosque is 5.5 acres. Some more land will be purchased. The design of an institution for the complex has already been approved by experts from the University of Engineering. Work orders will be issued very soon. The advisor also hopes that the foundation stone of the mosque complex will be laid during the interim government. The religious advisor said that the donation money of the mosque is deposited in a bank. This money is not spent. However, a huge amount of dividends are generated from this money. From the dividend money, donations are given to various mosques, madrasas and sick poor people in the district. From now on, poor students of schools and colleges will also be given grants, he said. Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police Imranul Haque and other senior government officials were present at the time. Later, he participated as the chief guest in a discussion on the importance of Islamic economics at Al-Jamiatul Emdadia in the city. Earlier in the morning, religious advisor Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain visited the District Model Mosque and Islamic Culture Center under construction in the Harua area of the city.
