Enayet Ullah owns 130 crore taka in the bank
General Secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association, Khandaker Enayet Ullah, has more than 130 crore taka in 40 bank accounts. Of these, 92 crore taka is deposited in FDR in 22 accounts and 38 crore taka in 18 banks. However, the amount of his assets, both movable and immovable, is more than 1,000 crore taka. It is known that such information has come to light in the initial investigation of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
After the Awami League government came to power in 2009, Enayet Ullah, the vice president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League, took control of the Road Transport Owners Association. After that, there are allegations against the syndicate led by Enayet Ullah of collecting extortion of 1 crore 65 lakh taka every day from about 15,000 buses plying on the roads of the capital and its outskirts.
It is alleged that Khandaker Enayet Ullah used to take bribes of lakhs of taka in the name of approval for putting new buses on the road. He has embezzled more than 1,000 crore taka by extorting money on the road. In addition to buying houses, cars, flats, plots in the names of himself and his wife and children, he deposited large sums of money in banks. He also has huge assets abroad.
In June 2021, the ACC issued a notice seeking an account of the assets of Khandaker Enayet Ullah, the owner of ‘Ena’ Paribahan. The account was ordered to be submitted to the commission within 21 working days of receiving the notice. The notice ordered Khandaker Enayet Ullah and his dependents to submit a detailed account of all the immovable and immovable properties acquired anonymously in their own names, liabilities, sources of income and their acquisitions.
In April 2022, Enayet Ullah, his wife Nargis Samsad, son Ridwanul Ashiq Niloy and daughter Chashme Jahan separately submitted their asset accounts to the ACC. In the asset declaration, Enayet Ullah mentioned the names of Enayet Ullah Transport (Pvt.) Limited, Solar Enterprise, Enayet Shipping and Enayet Food and Beverage Company as the sources of wealth. He also mentioned the information about their shares in Tanzil and Basumati Paribahan. He declared that he and his entire family have acquired a total of Tk 216.84 crore as per the information submitted to the ACC. Out of this, Tk 13.76 crore is immovable and Tk 137.11 crore is immovable.
Among the immovable assets of Enayet Ullah and his dependents, there is a six-storey house on 8.25 bigha land in Mirpur in the capital, worth Tk 1 crore 13 lakh; a six-storey house on 8 percent land in Monipurpara, Mirpur, worth Tk 5.257 lakh; a 3,050 square foot flat at No. 4/A, House No. 62, Road No. 11, Dhanmondi, worth Tk 3.25 lakh; A 151 square foot shop in Bashundhara City, worth 24 lakh 25 thousand; 78 percent land in Dakshinkhan, worth 29 lakh 36 thousand; 10 percent land in Dakshinkhan, worth 1 crore; 40 katha land in Keraniganj, worth 76 lakh 25 thousand; 10 katha land in Rupganj, worth 3 lakh; land worth 3 crore 60 lakh taka in Danua Mouza of Gazipur and 12 percent land worth 40 thousand taka in Feni were reported.
Among the movable assets, 80 buses in the name of Ena Transport (Pvt.) Limited, whose value is shown as 63 crore 87 lakh taka. It is reported that there are shares of 1 lakh taka in Tanjil Paribahan and 5 lakh taka in Basumoti Paribahan. And it is mentioned that there are 2.5 lakh shares in Solar Enterprise, 20 lakh in Ena Shipping and 8 lakh taka in Ena Food and Beverage Company. It was reported that he had FDR of Tk 58 lakh 58 thousand and cash of Tk 3 lakh 97 thousand in his bank.
The relevant ACC official said that the value of his assets shown in the asset statement is much lower than the market value. The actual value of his assets will exceed Tk 100 crores.
Sources said that Enayet Ullah’s file was slow due to his closeness to the ruling party. Not much progress was made. The ACC was shaken by the political change on August 5.
According to the latest information on bank accounts, in the 2024-25 fiscal year, Enayet Ullah had a balance of Tk 92 crore 3 lakh 2 thousand 586 in 22 bank accounts as of June 30 last year. In the 2025 fiscal year, he had deposits of Tk 38 crore 65 lakh 26 thousand 694 in 18 banks. Of this, the balance as of June 30 was Tk 6 crore 27 lakh 23 thousand 925.
There are allegations that he directly influenced the movement of buses on the roads during the then opposition party BNP’s strike program or large gatherings in Dhaka, on behalf of the Awami League government. Enayet Ullah has been in hiding since the change of power.
