Elias remembers Khaleda Zia
Students enraged by the announcement of Sheikh Hasina’s online speech, have vandalized and set fire to Sheikh Mujib’s house at 32 Dhanmondi. The vandalism began around 8 pm on Wednesday. Earlier, the anti-discrimination student movement called for a ‘bulldozer procession’.
Expatriate journalist and online activist Elias Hossain remembered former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in the incident of vandalism by students at 32 Dhanmondi. He said, ‘This vandalism is the result of Khaleda Zia being thrown out of the cantonment.’
Elias wrote on his verified Facebook profile – ‘What is happening at No. 32 is the result of Khaleda Zia being thrown out of the cantonment.’ in another status, he wrote, ‘My brothers, let there not be a single brick left at No. 32.’
Earlier, the Students’ Movement Against Discrimination announced a counter-programme in response to the announcement of Sheikh Hasina’s online speech. Its leaders and activists declared that if Sheikh Hasina makes any speech, Dhanmondi No. 32 will be bulldozed.
