Rajshahi revealed when foreign cricketers will leave the country
This year’s BPL controversy has spread quite a bit. Be it over the remuneration or the suspicion of fixing. Despite not making it to the playoffs, Durbar Rajshahi has surpassed everyone in creating controversy. The foreign cricketers spent yesterday in a hotel instead of returning home because the franchise, which has been creating controversy since the beginning of the tournament, did not pay their remuneration. Later, Rajshahi issued a press release last night that foreign cricketers will start leaving Bangladesh from tonight.
The release stated that Zimbabwean all-rounder Ryan Burle will fly to Harare on Ethiopian Airlines at 3 am (Sunday). Pakistan’s Mohammad Haris will fly on a Thai Airways flight at 1:40 am.
Pakistani head coach Ejaz Ahmed and West Indies’ Miguel Cummins will leave on February 5. Rajshahi said that the rest will also leave Bangladesh as soon as possible. A foreign cricketer from Rajshahi has also confirmed that they have received their flight tickets.
Rajshahi has been making a drama over the issue of remuneration throughout the tournament. All the domestic and foreign players were the victims of this. Usually, 25 percent of the remuneration is paid before the start of the tournament. But Rajshahi cricketers boycotted practice once due to non-payment of that money. And the foreign cricketers boycotted only one match. Although Berl and Harris played in the next match.
Rajshahi owner Shafiq got into trouble at the team hotel in Chittagong for not paying the money on time. The picture of security personnel sitting outside his room went viral at that time. After the Rajshahi team arrived in Dhaka, they were forced to check out of a hotel due to financial problems.
