    What the doctor said about Khaleda Zia’s complete treatment regimen

    Considering the overall condition of Begum Khaleda Zia, including her age, various diseases, and the lack of proper medical care while in prison for the past five and a half years, and the inability to travel abroad for treatment, the most beneficial treatment method will be followed for her, said Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.

    In the briefing, Dr. Zahid said that the medical board of the London Clinic has reviewed the health test report of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Doctors from Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States also joined it virtually. Begum Zia’s eldest son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, were present at the time.

    BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment in the UK for more than a week. After various tests, the medical board of doctors met at the London Clinic to review the health test report.

    In this context, Dr. Zahid said that the medical board has reviewed Khaleda Zia’s latest tests. It has been decided to conduct some more tests later. Two more specialist doctors will see her in the next two days. Further decisions will be taken about her treatment later.

    Stating that she (Khaleda Zia) is currently being treated with medication, the doctor said that medications are being given regularly for liver, kidney, heart, diabetes, and arthritis. However, to see if any other treatment can be done, members of the medical team from Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States also participated so that all treatments can be provided under one umbrella. The doctors have taken the initiative in this regard.
