Chinmoy’s bail plea in High Court, hearing on Monday.
Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari has filed a bail application in the High Court in a sedition case. His lawyer filed the bail application today, Sunday.
The application is on the agenda of the High Court bench of Justice Md. Atowar Rahman and Justice Md. Ali Reza at number 306. The hearing on the matter is scheduled for next Monday.
Earlier, on January 2, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court of Chittagong rejected Chinmoy Das’ bail application.
On October 31 last year, a sedition case was filed against him on charges of insulting the national flag. 18 other people were accused in the case.
Chinmoy Das was arrested in Dhaka on November 25. The next day, when the bail application was filed, the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate rejected it and ordered him to be sent to jail. On that day, there was a massive clash in the court premises. At that time, lawyer Saiful Islam was hacked to death in the court premises.
