Many cities around the world have been suffering from air pollution for several years. There is no relief in the air in megacity Dhaka. Today, Sunday, Karachi in Pakistan is the most polluted city in the world. And the air in megacity Dhaka is improving.

At around 9:30 am today, the capital Dhaka is ranked fifth in the list of the most polluted cities in the world, according to the Air Quality Index (AQI), a Switzerland-based technology company that monitors air quality.

At this time, Karachi tops the list of the cities with the most polluted air in the world, with an AQI score of 441. Also, Delhi in India is in second place with a score of 348, Hanoi in Vietnam is in third place with a score of 216 and Uhar in China is in fourth place with a score of 189.

An AQI score of zero to 50 is considered good. A score of 51 to 100 is considered moderate and a score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. If the score is between 151 and 200, it is considered ‘unhealthy’ air.

An AQI score between 201 and 300 is considered ‘extremely unhealthy’. In this situation, children, the elderly and the sick are advised to stay indoors and others are advised to limit their outdoor activities. An AQI between 301 and 400 is considered ‘hazardous’, posing a serious health risk to city residents.
