Tigers Seal the Series with Dominant Win.

Bangladesh delivered a powerful performance to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in their T20 series against the West Indies, winning the second match by 27 runs. With one match left, the Tigers have already clinched the series, thanks to another superb showing by their bowlers.

The match was held in Kingstown, St. Vincent, on Wednesday, and started at 6 am Bangladesh time. Bangladesh, batting first after losing the toss, posted a modest total of 129/7 in their 20 overs. In response, the West Indies were bowled out for 102 in 18.3 overs, falling short by 27 runs.

The West Indies had no answer to the relentless pressure from Bangladesh’s bowlers, who dominated from the very beginning. Taskin Ahmed set the tone early by removing Brandon King and Andre Fletcher, and the wickets kept tumbling throughout the innings. In contrast, Bangladesh’s batting had a shaky start but recovered well in the end.

Captain Liton Das, in great form, was dismissed early for just 3 runs, falling to Akil Hossain. Opening partner Tanjid Hasan Tamim didn’t last long either, bowled for 2 runs by Roston Chase. Soumya Sarkar, who had played a key role in the previous match, was run out for 11.

Despite the early setbacks, Mehedi Hasan Miraj and Zaker Ali fought back with steady knocks, making 26 and 21 runs respectively. However, it was Shamim Hossain’s blistering 35 off 17 balls, including 2 fours and a six, that boosted Bangladesh’s total in the final overs.

For the West Indies, the bowling was led by Gurkesh Moti, who took 2 wickets.

Chasing 130, the West Indies’ batsmen never really got going. Taskin continued his fine form, taking 3 wickets, including the crucial dismissals of Chase (32) and Akil Hossain (31). In the middle overs, Tanjim Hasan also impressed with 3 wickets for just 16 runs from 3.3 overs. Mehedi Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, and Rishad Hossain each took two wickets to keep the pressure on.

In the end, it was a dominant all-around effort from Bangladesh, with Shamim Hossain deservedly named Man of the Match for his quick-fire knock and the team’s overall brilliance.

With a 2-0 series lead, the Tigers will now look to complete a clean sweep in the final match.
